British Invasion Weekend
Step into history at British Invasion Weekend on May 2 and May 3, 2026, in Ridgeland, SC.
Join the Jasper County 250 Committee for a full weekend of Revolutionary War living history. Experience immersive encampments, live cannon and musket demonstrations, and interactive activities for all ages. Walk the grounds, meet reenactors, and see history come to life in an engaging, memorable way.

Hardeeville Honors the Battle of Purrysburg
Hardeeville honored the Battle of Purrysburg with a dedication ceremony at Millstone Landing, along the river where local resident Wes Goforth says his ancestor fought as a Continental regular.
New educational signs now share the story of the battle and other Revolutionary War history, with the Daughters of the American Revolution underscoring why these moments matter for the community.

- Purrysburg’s role in the Civil War, including
- Sherman’s March to the Sea
- State Historical Marker installation
