Old House Plantation Jasper County, SC

Old House – Thomas Heyward Tomb

In October 2024, we will have Dan & Rita Elliott of the LAMAR Institute perform a new archeological study of the 4-acre parcel.

Site prep will begin after the completion of the archeological study.

Professional repair and maintenance of cemetery walls, gates and headstones.
Flora Fauna identification and signage
Short film about the archeological dig, a brief history of Thomas Heyward, Jr and his connection to Jasper County, Daniel Heyward’s Old House Plantation, and special attention to Heyward’s entrepreneurial talents.

Wonderful Colonial Historical Site
My husband and I visited Old House and Thomas Heyward, Jr Tomb, a former colonial-era plantation. Thomas Heyward, Jr was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The beautiful grounds along the salt marsh and majestic oak trees make it an awesome place to visit. I highly recommend detouring off I95 to include it in your trip.
